A Drop in the Reign of Terror (2003)

This film explores themes of terrorism, injustice, lies, corruption, and love. Matara Harmine and her three children live in fear of attacks by both rebel groups and the government's security forces. Matara believes the wealthy businessman Akmon knows more about her husband's disappearance and death, as he has secretly supplied weapons to the rebels to protect his own illicit activities. Amidst this atmosphere of distrust, Matara’s daughter Panduka and Akmon’s son Manjula fall in love, complicating the relationships between their families. The film features a large cast of characters and a series of dramatic events typical of Sri Lankan cinema.
