Paris Return (2009)

Reoven Vardi, 75 and recently retired, wants to return to Israel, a country he left over 50 years ago. In Paris, his only concern is Pierluigi, an Italian man 10 years his junior, with whom he’s shared a long life. Pierluigi is open to the idea of Israel, but Reoven's main worry is combating his partner's persistent pessimism and sadness. This documentary is more than just a look at the daily life of an elderly couple or a love story; it captures the affectionate banter, Yiddish humor, Italian warmth, intimate moments, and a beautiful house near the Seine, all creating an elegant, almost magical atmosphere set against the backdrop of Paris.
