Taua (2007)

Following a successful raid and capturing the enemy village leader, a war party must transport their large canoe, called a Taua, through the forest to reach the sea and escape with their prize. Even in their own territory, however, water is scarce. As the warriors, urged on by their chief, push towards home, two boys are assigned to protect the vital water supply and watch over the prisoner. Their needs and desperation intensify as the story builds to a final confrontation.
