To film a poet requires abandoning typical filmmaking approaches, technical jargon, and artistic embellishment. Instead, we must think as the poet would: in terms of imagery, instinct, and metaphor. The film will be like a tree, his life the trunk and each work a branch. This initial metaphor develops throughout the film, where visuals are accompanied by sound that adds layers of meaning. These sounds create spaces, like the silent search for a center within an ant colony.
