Aparadhi (1949)

In 1940s Bombay, the peaceful life of instructor Amar and singer Sheela Rani is disrupted when Mohan, Amar's best friend and a wanted freedom fighter, takes shelter in their apartment. The initial political climate gives way to emotional turmoil as Amar becomes consumed by jealousy over Sheela and Mohan’s developing friendship. Consumed by suspicion, Amar leaves his life behind to become a spy, ultimately facing a difficult decision between his loyalty to his friend and his country, and the temptation of a colonial reward.
