Description:
This film explores the childhood landscape of Shin Sasakubo: Chichibu, home to Mt. Buko, revered as the "mountain of the gods." It's the heart of local folk religion and the sacred site of Chichibu Shrine. Despite its spiritual importance, the mountain continues to be devastated by large corporations using dynamite to extract limestone. Created by the art collective Chichibu Avant-Garde, the film presents memories of this destruction in a style reminiscent of a somato lantern or kaleidoscope.
