Description:
A photographer journeys into a remote forest to find Boychuk, a survivor of the devastating Great Fire of early 1900s Northern Ontario. However, she discovers Boychuk has recently died. Tom and Charlie, two elderly survivors who have lived in the woods for decades, meet Marie Desneige, a woman whose 60 years in an institution have intensified her zest for life. The photographer learns Boychuk was a painter, and his art was deeply influenced by the fire. This historical drama explores the lives of three men who chose a life of freedom in the wilderness, essentially making a pact with death.
