Description:
Set in Kabul, Afghanistan, in the early 1990s, this historical drama blends Bollywood music with a story of everyday life. Under Soviet rule, the city offers freedoms reminiscent of the West: women wear miniskirts, children attend school, and people enjoy cinemas, concerts, and universities. Fourteen-year-old Qodrat earns a living selling cinema tickets on the black market. A mistake leads him to a Soviet orphanage, where he fabricates an identity in hopes of gaining influence. His days are filled with friendships, romance, mischief, and adventures – experiences shared by children worldwide. But the safety of the orphanage is threatened as the Mujahideen ignite a civil war, drastically altering their world.
