Description:

Lance Loud, the eldest son from the 1973 PBS documentary about the Loud family, became a pioneering figure as the first openly gay man on television and an icon for his generation. Facing a terminal illness in 2001, with HIV and hepatitis C, he asked the original filmmakers, Susan and Alan Raymond, to film a final episode. In it, Lance reflects on his time with Andy Warhol, his band The Mumps, his writing career, and his experience as a reality TV pioneer. The episode is both a celebration of his life and a poignant reflection on the times.
