Description:
Fajar Merah, 21, is the son of Wiji Thukul, a poet and human rights activist who disappeared in 1998 under the Suharto regime. With his band, Merah Bercerita, formed in 2010 and backed by his family, Fajar attempts to revive his father's poems by setting them to music and creating an album. Against the backdrop of the 2014 Presidential Election, 16 years after the 1998 tragedy, Fajar and his family place their hopes on candidate Joko Widodo to address human rights violations and locate Wiji Thukul and other victims.
