SOH10 the Opera (2003)

The opera opens after a devastating accident – a crash affecting both a computer and the woman connected to it. The first two acts detail the reconstruction of her life, drawing on her body, speech, memories, and the computer's data. She merges with the machine, exchanging genetic material as cybernetic parts replace her own. Their relationship remains ambiguous. Reality blurs within a network of hallucinations, fragmented memories, and her inner life projected onto screens – the film itself. Physically present on stage, she interacts with the computer, a system of screens, sounds, and musical icons where she performs rituals to rebuild herself. The story of what happened unfolds for both her and the audience as they search for the cause of the accident.
