Description:
Jeppe, a down-and-out laborer with a fondness for brandy, stumbles drunk into a field. A passing baron sees an opportunity for a prank. The baron's men carry the unconscious Jeppe to the castle, dress him in the baron’s clothes, and place him in the baron’s bed. When Jeppe awakens, he believes he's in heaven. But the baron’s persistent servants slowly convince him he is the baron himself. Jeppe then uses this mistaken identity to get even with past rivals and indulge his former indulgences.
