Lokarri (2003)

"Lokarri," meaning "the bond" in Basque, follows Imanol, a 20-year-old jai alai player yearning to escape his small hometown in the French Basque Country. He's fixated on securing a professional contract in the U.S., but his reckless lifestyle is jeopardizing his health and career. At his lowest point, he encounters Ximista, a former jai alai star who returned from the U.S. disillusioned, and Viviane, a Parisian student who inspires him to rediscover the significance of his Basque roots.
