Description:
Ten-year-old Moti recounts his life in Bangladesh and a pivotal meeting with Paul Danvin, a French captain who, heartbroken, has just allowed his ship to be dismantled by scrap merchants. Stranded in Chittagong with no crew, documents, or prospects, Paul travels to Dhaka and encounters Moti and her mother, Alima. Drawn together, they follow the pair to the village of Rulipara, nestled along the Jamuna River. As a monsoon floods Rulipara, forcing its residents into exile, Alima and Paul fight to pursue their love amidst the chaos.
