Description:
Starting in 1969, Michel Auder documented New York's art world through video diaries. *Chelsea Girls* features intimate glimpses into Andy Warhol's public and private life, including the opening of his 1970 Whitney Museum show, a party at John Lennon and Yoko Ono's house, a tense phone call between Warhol, Viva, and Brigid Berlin, and an insightful interview with Larry Rivers, a key figure in Pop Art, after the release of *The Philosophy of Andy Warhol* in 1975. Throughout, money is a recurring theme, particularly with Viva, who sent Warhol threatening letters demanding payment after leaving the Factory in 1969.
