Inventario (2006)

In the 1970s, Frontera Corozal, Mexico, was established as a modernization project, relocating 601 Ch'ol families to identical plots along the Usumacinta River near Chiapas. This project asked town residents to visually map imagined landscapes and personal spaces. Working with the community council, comprised entirely of men, we documented everything within the town. A council member then narrated this inventory using the town’s public announcement system. The project was commissioned by Laboratorio 060 for Esbozo para una Ciudad del Futuro, a site-specific curatorial project.
