Sigh (2008)

Sigh is a collaboration with the BBC Concert Orchestra, featuring a score composed by Academy Award-winning Anne Dudley. Dudley explains she envisioned Sam's photographs from her Wuthering Heights series while composing, aiming to translate the feeling of loss into the orchestra's performance without instruments. She designed the music to emanate from specific screens, creating a spatial sound experience that allows listeners to move around and discover different perspectives. The various sections of the orchestra depend on each other to build a complete soundscape and evoke a sense of absence. The film utilizes an eight-screen projection.
