Description:
This film adapts Charles Perrault's Cinderella, conceived by Rudolf Nureyev. Nureyev commissioned set designer Petrika Ionesco for his ballet and was surprised by Ionesco's fresh take on the classic story. Initially hesitant, the choreographer was ultimately drawn to the modernized approach, as the core narrative remained intact. A young woman suffers under a cruel family and longs to escape her oppressive life. Her act of kindness, while assisting someone in need, unexpectedly alters her fate. The fairy godmother figure is reimagined as a Hollywood producer, transforming the film's protagonist into a contemporary Prince Charming.
