Adolphe Adam: Giselle ou les Wilis (2007)

Giselle is the quintessential Romantic ballet. It tells the story of a young woman's passionate love for a Duke, unaware that he is already promised to a princess. Heartbroken by this revelation, Giselle experiences terrifying visions and ultimately dies. In retaliation, the Queen of the Wilis – spirits of women who died young – curses Albrecht to dance endlessly until he collapses from exhaustion.
