Description:
Hans, a farmer, is conscripted into the army and experiences the harsh realities of war. Upon returning home, he discovers his king has cheated him out of his pay. While traveling, Hans meets a witch who tasks him with retrieving light from a spring. He cleverly keeps the light when she tries to trick him, uncovering her dark magic. When he finally ignites the light, a tiny man appears bound to its owner, but only if that owner believes in themselves. Empowered by this discovery, Hans returns to the king to demand he honor his promise and pay his wages.
