In 1974, a woman takes her own life. I encounter the man again in 1997. He's still living in the apartment he moved into forty-one years prior, with his wife and child. The apartment is remarkably preserved. The man is my father. Following this, I spend the next two and a half years recording him with a DV camera. I observe my father, sometimes from afar, sometimes very close, even accompanying him on a boat trip through the Caribbean. The camera offers both distance and intimacy.
