Description:
Often hailed as one of the greatest operas ever composed, *Don Giovanni* is the second masterpiece from the remarkable partnership of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Lorenzo da Ponte. Inspired by Molière's *Don Juan*, this two-act comic drama premiered in Prague in October 1787 to widespread acclaim. The production was revived at the 2017 Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, directed by Jean-François Sivadie. The acclaimed cast included Philippe Sly as Don Giovanni, Nahuel di Pierro as Leporello, and Eleonora Buratto as Donna Anna, with music led by maestro Jérémie Rhorer and the period instrument ensemble Le Cercle de l'Harmonie.
