Description:

The Wiggs family prepares for Thanksgiving in their dilapidated home, anticipating a meager meal of leftover stew while mourning the long-lost Mr. Wiggs. Kindhearted Miss Lucy arrives with a lavish feast. Her boyfriend, Bob, arranges for the Wiggs' ailing son to receive medical care. The other son earns money selling kindling, allowing the family to attend a show. Tragedy strikes when Mrs. Wiggs rushes to the hospital just in time to witness her son's death. Meanwhile, Mrs. Wiggs' neighbor, Miss Mazy, hopes to marry Mr. Stubbins, who insists on sampling her cooking. Mrs. Wiggs discreetly ensures Stubbins tastes her dishes, leading him to agree to marriage. Unexpectedly, Mr. Wiggs reappears, impoverished but with exactly twenty dollars – enough to avert foreclosure and save the family. Miss Lucy and Bob then get married.
