Description:
Germany, 1971: Erika (Anna Schudt) is struggling to cope with the demands of her life – working in her husband Kurt's (Christian Erdmann) butcher shop, raising their three children, and dealing with additional responsibilities. Her doctor reveals she's pregnant again, a prospect that feels unbearable. She decides to secretly travel to Cologne to have the baby aborted at her sister Charlotte's (Alwara Höfels) home. Complications during the procedure leave Erika alive but discovered by Kurt. This leads to a major argument, complicated by concerns about their daughter Ulrike's (Lene Oderich) future. Erika leaves with her children to live with Charlotte, but finds herself facing increasing dependence on Kurt due to legal restrictions. Determined to regain control of her life, she resolves to fight for a new beginning.
