Description:
Elif, along with her sisters Funda and Aysun, has spent adulthood grappling with a deeply traumatic childhood. Their parents died in a bus accident when they were young, leaving the sisters physically unharmed but emotionally scarred. Funda and Aysun later developed mental illnesses, placing the responsibility of their care on Elif. Eventually, overwhelmed, Elif and her husband abandoned the sisters, leaving them vulnerable in a country lacking social support. Funda and Aysun face violence and exploitation, and their reunion with Elif and Yasemin is both moving and disturbing. *Yasam Arsizi* (also known as *Sidewalk Sisters*) was selected for the 2008 Istanbul Film Festival.
