Description:
Gunfighter Brazos Kane decides to leave his life of gunfighting behind and becomes a cowhand on the Inskip ranch with his friend Bob Tyrell. However, upon arriving, he discovers Tyrell has been murdered. Kane carries Tyrell's body to the Banner ranch and is immediately accused of the murder by Banner. Banner orders Deputy Sheriff Bill Yount to arrest Kane, but Banner's daughter Jane takes pity on Kane and alerts Inskip to the situation. Inskip arrives just in time to stop a lynching. Sheriff Kiscade eventually drops the murder charge due to lack of evidence. Determined to find Tyrell’s killer, Brazos begins his own investigation. Meanwhile, Bess Bannister, Jane's sister, knowing Bard Macky, the Banner ranch foreman, is responsible for Tyrell's death and that Kane will pursue him, subtly tries to obstruct Kane's search by feigning romantic interest in him.
