Description:
Eleven-year-old Philipp, or Lippel, journeys to the East – without a magic carpet. While his father, Chef Otto Mattenheim, is away on a work trip, Lippel is cared for by the new housekeeper, Mrs. Jakob, who proves to be a cruel and childish tormentor. To escape her, Lippel retreats into vivid dreams where his father, Mrs. Jakob, and two classmates appear in an exotic world. In these dreams, Lippel has incredible adventures. His dreams ultimately help him and his classmates defeat Mrs. Jakob, rescue his dog Muck, and reclaim their home.
