Gutmensch (2018)

After watching Marjolijn's child, Zohre unexpectedly reappears at her door. Marjolijn offers her a place to stay for just one night, using the living room couch. But that single night turns into months as the Afghan refugee and Marjolijn form a close bond. Marjolijn tries to help Zohre navigate her difficult circumstances. Their conversations range from everyday topics like family and television to frustratingly long calls with the complex Dutch bureaucracy.
