In Sight (2011)

During the late 1700s, Jeremy Bentham conceived the panopticon – a building designed for maximum surveillance. Originally used in prisons, where observation and punishment were paramount, the panopticon concept now manifests in modern surveillance technologies and intelligence gathering. These systems monitor, record, and analyze personal data to track individuals' movements, behaviors, and activities. Architects, software specialists, those who have been monitored, and former intelligence operatives share their experiences with this pervasive form of control. The film revisits Michel Foucault’s *Discipline and Punish*, exploring the real-world implications of the panopticon principle through firsthand accounts of contemporary surveillance.
