Seikima II – Humane Society (1992)

Seikima II was a Japanese death-metal band known for their elaborate kabuki makeup, lyrics detailing violent acts, and a deliberately evil image. This animated adaptation claims the band's members are demons from another dimension, Makai, and follows their backstory. Five demonic figures, led by Demon Kogure, plot humanity's destruction. Their only obstacle is Rosa, secretly the goddess Freyja in disguise, who aims to counter their plans with a weapon of her own. As the demons prepare to unleash their ultimate weapon, the Tower of Babel, Rosa works to complete the Tower of Cain. Just as victory seems within reach, the demon leader has a sudden change of heart: instead of destruction, they decide to form a rock band to convert everyone to demon worship.
