While walking home in her province, Maya accepts a ride from a passing vehicle, hoping for a quicker journey. Instead, she discovers she's been taken with other children, and they're far from her destination – in Manila. By evening, the children are abandoned on the highway to beg for money. Facing the harsh realities of street life, Maya clings to her hopes and dreams of freedom, even as they seem increasingly distant.
