Description:
Kuzma Lichikov, living in the fantastical town of Veliky Guslar, discovers a sleeping princess in a cave. A kiss awakens her, and they fall in love. Inspired, Kuzma’s woodcarving talent blossoms as he decorates the forest glade where they build a home. Batyev, the city's cultural authority, notices his work and offers them an apartment in exchange for using Kuzma and the glade for public events. Kuzma accepts the position and quickly becomes consumed by bureaucracy, losing sight of his love for the princess.
