As Beethoven's hearing deteriorated, he dedicated himself even more fully to his music, composing works like "Fur Elise," the "Pathétique Sonata," and the powerful "Fifth Symphony." Audiences responded with overwhelming emotion, rising to their feet in appreciation of his passionate music – a response he could not hear himself. His music continues to deeply resonate with listeners today. The video opens in 1827 with a tribute to Beethoven in Vienna, Austria, before shifting to scenes from his childhood.
