Description:

This is a time for Chinese people to honor their ancestors with offerings of food, hoping to appease them and avoid misfortune. In Hong Kong, Taoist organizations hold ceremonies for the dead and distribute rice to the elderly and poor. The large-scale rice distribution shown in this film drew over eight thousand people, arriving before dawn to secure their place in line for the event, which ran from nine in the morning to six in the evening.
