Description:
Rabbi Benjamin Murmelstein (1905-1989) led the Jewish Council in the Nazi-created ghetto of Terezín. The Nazis appointed him as the representative of the community marked for extermination. Following the war, he was acquitted of collaborating with the Nazis, but faced ostracism from the Jewish community and eventually died in Rome. His son Wolf dedicated his life to reshaping his father's reputation, aiming to present a more nuanced view of his father’s role in Terezín. The film explores the relationship between Wolf and psychoanalyst David Meghnagi, examining themes of acceptance, denial, and confronting a shared family tragedy through their conversation about the memory of his father.
