Description:
This is a fresh take on S.T. Coleridge's 1816 poem, "Christabel." Christabel, the only daughter of a rural worker, encounters Geraldine, a mysterious woman claiming to have been assaulted and in need of assistance. In her naiveté, Christabel welcomes Geraldine into her father's home. Subsequently, the two women develop a close relationship, with Geraldine profoundly influencing Christabel. This influence challenges Christabel’s beliefs and disrupts established traditions, while simultaneously awakening feelings of passion and freedom she has never known. The story is reimagined in the rural setting of the closed Goian region, where Geraldine embodies a free-spirited presence that destabilizes the existing social order and strained relationships affecting Christabel and her father.
