Description:
In July 2002, an American producer asks director Mariano Donoso to make a documentary about education in San Juan, the place where he grew up. The film's first day is disrupted by a teachers' strike that shuts down schools across the province, impacting the documentary's progress. Donoso then journeys through San Juan's history and current issues – encountering strikes, political claims, the figure of Sarmiento, an earthquake, bureaucratic hurdles, its connection to Buenos Aires, and ultimately, the desert – in a journey that is both humorous and poignant.
