Following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, fifteen-year-old Keisuke lives with his family in temporary housing away from his hometown. He joined his junior high school's broadcasting club, a decision made after the earthquake. He connects with his clubmates, but the tsunami destroyed all their filmmaking equipment. Determined to make one last film before graduating junior high, Keisuke considers giving up. Then, a man in a small Chinese village donates filmmaking equipment to Keisuke's school. Soon after, Keisuke, his friends, and their teacher are invited to China to film a project. They embark on a journey across the vast Chinese landscape to shoot their film.
