Il Corsaro (2005)

Verdi's *Il Corsaro* remains one of his lesser-known operas, composed during his "years in the galley" but written in 1848 when he was already a well-established composer in Italy. Despite being considered a minor work, it features many exciting and moving moments, with a compellingly tight plot driving its music to a powerful and rhythmic pace. The recording boasts a strong cast, including baritone Renato Bruson and conductor Renato Palumbo, and showcases Lamberto Puggelli's stunning stage designs.
