Description:
Espen, feeling unfulfilled in his Norwegian life, travels to California as an exchange student searching for meaning. He joins the high school tennis team and quickly makes friends, but struggles with compromising to fit in. A betrayal at a New Year's party leads him to consider returning home. Encouraged by his host parents and English teacher, he decides to stay and complete the year. After his girlfriend apologizes, Espen finds the strength to forgive her and reconnect with his friends during the final weeks. Humiliated at prom, he must confront himself to discover who he truly is before losing his sense of self.
