Description:
"Menagerie" is a drama set in a Serbian village near the Drina River in the early 1990s. The film explores the moral and historical unraveling of a country, viewed through the lens of a close-knit community bound by tradition. Srna, the daughter of the village's most powerful man, Strain, is betrothed to Jovan, the son of forester Tadija, who facilitates Strain’s illegal activities in exchange. Despite a mutual attraction, Srna and Jovan resist their fathers’ arrangement. The sudden return of Petar, a former forester recently released from prison after serving time for killing Strain's son, disrupts the village and casts a shadow over everyone’s future.
