Description:

A gritty and uncompromising drama, *The Sweeney* was a major television success of the 1970s. Starring John Thaw as Detective Inspector Jack Regan and Dennis Waterman as his devoted partner, Detective Sergeant Carter, the series was an instant critical and popular hit, spawning four seasons and two films.
