Description:
In 1980s Czechoslovakia, Father Holy, a beloved village priest, struggles against both the government and the Church hierarchy to fund a new roof for his parish church. His warmth and humor shine through despite mounting obstacles. When his fight for his community is ultimately unsuccessful, he's ordered to be moved away from his people and his supporters. Czech-American Milena Jelinek adapted this poignant story from the 1934 novel *The Forgotten Light* by Jakub Deml, a Czech writer, poet, and Catholic priest.
