Description:
On a scouting expedition, Olivier Balma, a guide with CMDI, leads Erwan Le Lann to the remote Getu Valley in Guizhou Province. They find a remarkably pristine location featuring a distinctive giant arch filled with limestone formations. With government and the Chinese Mountaineering Association's approval, a team of climbers establishes 250 new routes catering to all skill levels over two trips. The Petzl RocTrip brings together hundreds of climbers, both Chinese and international, to tackle these routes. A major highlight is Spaniard Dani Andrada's ascent of his project, "Corazon de Ensueno," a challenging eight-pitch climb completed with his partner Chris Sharma before a large audience. Since then, the Getu Valley has become a renowned climbing destination, celebrated for its impressive routes and the welcoming culture of the local people.
