A Light in the Distance (2015)

Mado wakes to find everyone gone, having evacuated ahead of an approaching typhoon. Checking her school, she finds it deserted. She unexpectedly encounters her classmate, Fujii, who asks her to find shelter with him, not wanting to be alone. They search for others, discovering an empty movie theater with a film still playing, a young girl by an abandoned pool, a strip show theater with a retired performer, and an old man repeatedly brushing his shoe in a bowling center. After searching extensively, they find refuge in a factory as a heavy rain begins to fall – the same factory where Mado's father died.
