Description:
Antoine, a rigid and isolated accountant, is sent to a fitness gym for a month to audit the books. The gym owner, M. Roland, suggests Antoine use the facilities, including massages. He begins seeing Dominique, a powerfully built African masseuse. During these sessions, Antoine finds the pain strangely comforting, while Dominique discovers Antoine is perfect for his own sadomasochistic desires. When Dominique breaks Antoine's arm and then takes him to the hospital, Antoine confesses his fascination with and fear of death. With Dominique’s assistance, the accountant begins to sever his ties to the world in order to confront his deepest fears.
