Avenged Sevenfold's first live album and DVD, *Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough*, was released on September 16, 2008, by Warner Bros. Records. The DVD captures their April 10, 2008 concert in their hometown of Long Beach, California, during the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour. The CD features previously unreleased B-sides recorded during the making of the album *Avenged Sevenfold*, along with covers and other exclusive material. The DVD was directed by Rafa Alcantara, who previously directed the band's documentary *All Excess*. A trailer for the release appeared on the band's YouTube channel on August 15, 2008. Prior to the album's release, the live version of "Seize the Day," "Unholy Confessions," and "Scream" were streamed online.
