Description:
In 1978, Tom Peters navigates his high school coming-out experience. His well-meaning but overbearing mother pushes him to date girls and enrolls him in disco lessons. His close friendship with Matt blossoms into first love, only for Matt to unexpectedly reject him with hateful homophobic words. The pair, along with Matt's new girlfriend, escalate their bigotry by vandalizing the classroom of a gay teacher. Initially complicit in their scorn, Tom is forced to confront his own identity and consider revealing his truth. A family conflict triggers a personal crisis, and finding solace in disco offers a path forward.
