This horror film presents the terrifying consequences of a failed paranormal investigation, captured as found footage. The premise of the new reality show "The Ghost Kids" involved assembling teenagers with heightened sensitivity to the supernatural and sending them to investigate America's most haunted places. For their first episode, the group travels to Clay County, West Virginia, a location steeped in legend about Sam Mitchell, a man accused of murdering thirty children in his home before being lynched by the community. As they sit around a campfire, the "Ghost Kids" are told the story of Sam Mitchell by their producers before being locked inside the house overnight, paranormal equipment and cameras recording their search for evidence of his lingering spirit.
