Nobody Loves Me (2017)

High in the Andes Mountains, near Lake Titicaca, lives the Titicaca water frog (Telmatobius culeus), a species unique to the high-altitude, cold waters of the region. However, over-collecting by people, pollution, and new predators have severely damaged the frog population – a difficult existence made worse by its unfortunate resemblance to a human body part and the resulting unflattering nicknames. In 2016, ten thousand frogs died suddenly, a tragedy in a series of mass die-offs for this critically endangered animal. This short film from The Redford Center reveals the remarkable adaptability of these often overlooked creatures, their vital role in the lake's ecosystem, and what could be lost if humans don’t act to help them.
